In this class, we will go over some "next steps" in learning how to make glass beads. In order to get to these next steps, the student should know how to make a basic spacer bead on a mandrel, and know safety procedure and torch operation.
When the class starts, Jannine will go over the absolute basics, assess the student's skill level, and then go on to these new techniques:
Stringers- Learn how to pull thin strings of glass that can be used in many ways to decorate your glass beads. We will cover regular stringers, and encased stringers.
Dots- applying dots creates a wonderful style of bead that in technique, has been done for thousands of years. This technique takes some placement practice, but ultimately creates a very unique, beautiful effect.
Encasements- Clear is one of the things that really makes working with glass a completely unique art form. Using clear rod, learn how to encase your beads to create more intricate design, utilizing layers. Taking all three of these techniques to create encased floral soda lime glass beads, that you pick up the next day, or can be mailed.
