This culture flourished in what is now present-day Arizona, New Mexico and Southern Mexico about c.1150 to about 1350 CE disappearing from archeological records by the mid 15 th century. This is a two-part class with the first session focused on viewing and discussing examples of Mimbres pottery. In addition to using present-day commercial clay and tools to stimulate handbuilt bowls and vessels painted with images reflecting things Mimbres people would see in everyday life such as birds, plants and insects. The second session after allowing clay objects to dry out, will use stencils or free-hand drawing of images using slips and underglazes in preparation for a bisque firing. Clay, slip and stencils will be available for the completion of two objects plus firing.

Member $90 + $45 material fee to be paid to instructor at first session.

Non-member $100 + $45 material fee to be paid to instructor at first session.
