Ceramics Studio Certification

For the first part of this class (30 mins), all participants will gain an understanding of:

• the organizational system in the ceramics studio
• what equipment is available to use - slab roller, wheels, bats, community tools, molds, kilns, mixer, grinder, extruder
• member responsibilities 
• studio etiquette

• clay bodies 
• glazing - including underglazes, stains and slips
• forming - including using the wheel, slab roller or the coil technique
• texturing - sources of supplies
• local educational resources (this is not a hands-on class)
• ceramic tools and clay suppliers
  

Members must take this class prior to using the Ceramics Studio. 

Sid will not provide hands-on instruction but will give the resources so that you may start on your ceramics journey! It is essential that all members take this certification prior to using the studio.
