Peace Dances with Valerie Rose & Friends.
This Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) circle, in the Manitou & Colorado Springs area, combines dancing, holding hands & singing universal sacred phrases to create a collective healing experience. With excitement, our April 2025 dance will feature Grace D. Marie. For more than 30 years, she has been leading dance circles worldwide, bringing people of all ages and cultures together and planting seeds of beauty, love and peace. We have already danced a few of her dances!

We gather together to practice Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) - singing, movement and chant practices. These spiritual practices, also known as Sufi Dancing, started in San Francisco in the 1960s by Samuel Lewis, an American mystic, and are now shared all over the world. These are participatory circle dances with simple folk-dance movements.
Each dance uses a mantra or sacred phrase from one of the worlds spiritual traditions. The words, melody and movements are taught just before dancing them. We focus on being in the heart and interconnection. Singing & moving together creates an amazing vibration ripe for personal and collective healing.
Valerie Rose, a peace dancer and musician for over 20 years, is leading the dances.
