This class is open to:
Middleschoolers, High Schoolers and Adults
I will cover the basics of blacksmithing and demonstrate making a hook and spoon. I will also give an orientation of forging area equipment. I will pass on resources for blacksmith learning (books, videos) so students can prepare for the follow-on class. The follow-on class will be hands-on forging time and using equipment in order to get certified to use the forging shop.
Learning Outcome:
Understand blacksmithing basics and qualify for the level 2 class.
Supplies:
Wear non-synthetic clothing (i.e. cotton) and close-toed shoes. Bring eye protection if you have it available.
