In this introductory twice-weekly, 4-week course, we will explore the fundamentals of making pottery. Centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing will be the core focus of this class, with an emphasis on learning how to create the fundamental forms, bowls and cylinders. Other techniques will be learned, such as making handles for mugs, depending on the interest of students.
Please make sure nails are cut as short as possible. If nails are grown out at all this will hinder your ability the throw, thus hindering your progress. Cutting your nails will insure the best experience you can have in class. Hair past the shoulders must be tied back. Serious injury can occur when using a wheel if hair is not tied back.
