In this introductory twice-weekly, 4-week course, we will explore the fundamentals of making pottery. Centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing will be the core focus of this class, with an emphasis on learning how to create the fundamental forms, bowls and cylinders. Other techniques will be learned, such as making handles for mugs, depending on the interest of students.

MUST READ BELOW: PLEASE WEAR APPROPRIATE CLOTHING. Shorts or jeans and preferably closed toed shoes. Bring a towel, this is mandatory. You may bring an apron if you would like to. Nails MUST BE CUT/TRIMMED before class. Acrylics nails MUST BE REMOVED if they extend past the time of your finger. 1-2 mm nail length is ideal, but nails cut before tip of finger generally works too. Hair that is past the shoulder must be tied up to ensure the safety of the student while operating the pottery wheel. Tools are provided but you are welcome to purchase your own if you'd like.
