This series of 8 classes is designed for older adults. It's designed to be user-friendly so participants don't need to be able to draw or paint representationally.  They will be using simple tools to create abstract 2D artwork and making artistic choices about color, placement, shape and texture. The projects are layered in a series of steps so the resulting artwork is very rich and complex.

Elizabeth Stanbro has a Master's degree in Fine Art and a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from Kent State University and Miami University in Oxford Ohio (respectively). She has several certifications in Creative Aging from the Creative Center in NYC and the Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University. She is also a certified Art teacher in Colorado.

The mission statement for Art for Older Adults is: I develop and facilitate hands-on visual arts programs for older adults and those with dementia. My programs involve working with and inspiring adults to engage with high-quality art projects that respect their wealth of life experiences, skills, and innate capacity to create.
