This is a paid class/build space for those interested in building a coffin for the 32nd annual Emma Crawford Coffin Races & Festival. These workshop hours are from 1-3:30pm every Saturday in September and will be located in the Woodshop at the Manitou Arts Center, 515 Manitou Ave.
No supplies or storage will be provided, so WHAT YOU BRING YOU MUST TAKE AWAY.
The goal of these classes is to help facilitate more entries in the Coffin Races. Feel free to bring materials or questions and the Coffin Captain will be happy to help.
While not limited to the topic at hand, the days will have a general theme for each classes build:
1st Saturday (9/5) Base of Car
2nd Saturday (9/12) Sides
3rd Saturday (9/19) Handles and Seat
4th Saturday (9/26) Wheels
Leaving you with the month of October to decorate and personalize your coffin before the races on October 24th, 2026.
