
Blue Hands Art is hosting Open Indigo Vats. These are sessions where we make our indigo vats available for use and do not include any instruction, nor tools to bind your fabric.
15 Items Max, per session. All items must be pre-bound, pre-stitched, and pre-clamped, etc., and VAT DYE READY.
No Blue Hands supplies will be given or offered for use, including poles for Arashi.
As a reminder: only natural fibers will dye, so all items need to be made of cotton, hemp, rayon, bamboo, or linen. Protein vats are only available upon request. A request must be placed at least 5 days before the scheduled open dye vats day. Requests can be placed through email at bluehandsart@gmail.com
Requirements and Non-negotiables: Prior attendance at Blue Hands Art Clubs, Festivals, and Classes.
Provided by Blue Hands Art Dye Vats, racks, clean up towels, scour (soda ash) water only, name tags with pins, and fishing line. No plastic bags/tubs/containers are available for transport home.
*Rinsing water and vinegar bath will not be provided, but instructions for at-home care will be provided.
No Refunds or Reschedules.
Clothing items accepted: Each clothing item is to be no bigger than a pair of pants/jeans AND no longer in length than a shawl.
Household items accepted:
Napkins
Dish towels
Pillowcases
Items excluded from this event:
Bed linens (no sheets, no comforters, no throws)
Bath linens (no washcloths, no face towels, no bath towels, no bath sheets)
No rugs of any size
No seat cushion covers
