Welcome to Blue Hands Club!
Are you new to indigo dyeing and looking to expand your skills? Or have you attended a Blue Hands Festival during the summer and want to learn more? Blue Hands Club offers an intimate, guided gathering for both newcomers and those familiar with indigo dyeing. We meet on the second Friday of each month, where you can enjoy working in our indigo vats, learn a special technique for the evening, and connect with others. Discover what fellow participants create and share in the joy of making something unique for yourself!
What is Blue Hands Club?
Blue Hands Club is not specifically a class; it’s a time for focused practice to support purposeful play. It’s a fun and educational way to spend your Friday night. Come join us—we do all the work, and you have all the fun creating something beautiful and enjoying an excitingly creative evening at the MAC!
What to Bring?
If you are new to indigo dyeing, please bring your own natural fiber items. You can bring an old pair of pants or a dress that needs a little updating, or items such as t-shirts, tea towels, or pillowcases. Past participants of the Blue Hands Festival, Blue Hands Club, or shibori classes are invited to bring pre-prepared items to dye. Items do not need to be white; they can be colored fabric or clothing. However, they must be made from natural fibers such as cotton, linen, hemp, bamboo, or silk.
How Much Does It Cost?
Blue Hands Club at the MAC operates on a sliding scale to assist those who need a little help and to give back to those who are able. Not interested in either option? No worries! Choose Tier 1 for the regular price of the Club. Options for Tier 2 or 3 are available if you’re looking for alternatives.
